The pensioner had been sailing to Britain from France.
The unoccupied boat was located on rocks at Chapel Point near Portmellon, south of St Austell, Cornwall.
It was found at around 8pm last Friday (13 Jun), Devon and Cornwall Police said.
A sea and land search was carried out by coastguards, police and the RNLI following the discovery of the vessel.

The search was stood down pending further information.
Now police say they are making extensive enquiries, as reported by Need To Know.
Devon and Cornwall police Detective Sergeant Jonathan Harcourt said: “Mr Sycamore is being treated as a missing person at this time and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace him and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“We continue to liaise with partners including the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and HM Coroner in relation to this matter.

“We would also ask members of the public to report any information which may assist our enquiries to come forward.”
David, from Mevagissey, Cornwall, was described by locals as a lovely man and a passionate campaigner on environment, climate and pollution.
Rescuers spent over 10 hours looking for him during the initial search.
A spokesperson for Fowey lifeboat said: “The crew was involved in a 10.5 hour service on Friday 13th June, after a request from Falmouth Coastguard.
“They were asked to find and assess the situation of a sailing vessel reported to be aground at Chapel Point, Mevagissey.

“Fowey’s lifeboat was launched at 8:40pm.
“On arrival at the scene two crew members took the XP boat out to the casualty vessel which they then boarded. No one was found onboard.
“The lifeboat then proceeded to carry out a series of search patterns between Chapel Point, the Dodmin and the Lizard, reaching up to 25′ from Fowey.
“The searches were carried out together with a Coastguard Helicopter, aeroplane and lifeboats from Falmouth Lifeboat, The Lizard and RNLI Looe Lifeboat Station, all under the coordination of Falmouth Coastguard.
“Fowey lifeboat was stood down at 4:50am and returned to the station.”
