A reckless tourist was almost mauled by a lion after he interrupted the beast mid-meal
The big cat was feasting on a large animal when the man approached for a closer look.
He was trying to take a video of the animal tucking into its prey, as reported by Need To Know.

In shocking footage, filmed in Bhavnagar, India, the lion lunged at the man, who quickly backed away.
Horrified onlookers tried to warn the man not to get too close.
He miraculously escaped unharmed.

While lions are not typically found directly within the city limits, they do inhabit the surrounding regions.
The Gir Forest National Park, the last stronghold of Asiatic lions, is located in Gujarat.
Recent reports indicate a growing population of lions in the state, with a 32% increase in the past five years, bringing the total to 891 lions.
