An influencer who moved to the US to chase the American Dream has died of cancer at the age of 30.
Paola Caldera fled her home country, Venezuela, and applied for political asylum in the US.
She quickly built up a following of 237,000 TikTok fans – mostly Latinos living in America.

She shared advice on achieving the American Dream and inspired families to work for a better life for their children.
The mother-of-two said the move also helped her eldest son, who suffers from an unspecified illness, as reported by Need To Know.

She said: “The treatment was available in California and I could afford it there.”
In an interview before her death, she said she appreciated the lifestyle and safety in the US the most.
Alongside her husband, she raised her children to study hard and reach their full potential.
Paola also worked cleaning hotel rooms while creating content about her daily routines.
She said she earned more cleaning hotels in the US than she did working as a dentist in Venezuela.

Her life changed in mid-2024 when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Despite staying positive and keeping her followers updated, she died last week after contracting pneumonia.
She had hoped to make a full recovery to continue raising her children.
Paola’s family announced they will livestream her funeral on her popular TikTok page on 2 and 3 October, so followers can join virtually.
They also asked fans to donate via a Zelle account to help cover funeral costs, estimated at over £13,396 ($18,000).
