Doctors have removed 29 spoons, 19 toothbrushes and two pens from a man’s stomach in a shocking operation.
The 39-year-old, named Sachin, was rushed to hospital complaining of severe abdominal pain.
An ultrasound revealed 50 foreign objects, prompting emergency surgery the next day.

Initially, doctors tried to remove the items with an endoscopy, but the sheer number made it impossible.
The operation lasted three and a half hours and was led by Dr Shyam Kumar, head of Dev Nandini Hospital in Hapur, near New Delhi, India.

“We found two pens, 19 toothbrushes, and 29 spoons during the procedure,” Dr Kumar told local media.
“The patient’s life was saved.”
Sachin, who arrived from a nearby rehab centre on 16 September, was discharged last Tuesday (23 Sept) and is now in stable condition, as reported by Need To Know.
The surgery was particularly tricky because of the sharp items inside his stomach, including pointed plastic and jagged metal.
According to reports, Sachin, who lives just outside Hapur in Bulandshahr District, reportedly ate the objects out of frustration at his treatment in the rehab centre.
His family said the reforming addict was angry at being denied drugs and receiving tiny portions of food.
Sachin explained: “In the entire day, we would be given some vegetables and just a few chapatis.
“If something came from home, more often than not it wouldn’t reach us.
“We would sometimes get one biscuit in a day.”
Angered by the small portions, he stole utensils from a pile, took them to the bathroom, snapped them into pieces, and forced them down with water.
Dr Kumar said such behaviour is often linked to underlying psychological conditions.
He said: “This kind of ingestion is not uncommon among patients dealing with mental health challenges.”
The incident has raised concerns about conditions at the rehab centre and highlighted the need for better mental health support for patients undergoing treatment.
