An OAP was accused of stealing a £5 scarf from a charity shop as shocked shoppers watched on.
A brave member of staff chased after the pensioner and stopped him in the street.
She claimed: “You have taken.

“You have stolen from our shop.”
The flat-cap wearing, grey haired man then took a scarf out of his carrier bag.
The pair then walked back down the street to the British Heart Foundation shop.
One onlooker said: “Oh.”
Others started laughing as he was frogmarched back.
It happened on High Street, Walthamstow, east London at 2pm last Thursday (9 Oct).
“A man was caught allegedly stealing from British Heart Foundation,” one onlooker told Need To Know
“A staff member caught him.
“The scarf was worth a fiver.”
One local fumed: “Stealing from Tesco’s if you are genuinely struggling might be let go.

“But from a charity shop?”
Another added: “Some have low aspirations.
“Stealing from a charity shop, when the items in there are only cheap.
“lf l was a thief, l think l would at least go further up market.”
Max said: “Poor people want to steal.

“Rich people want to buy.”
British Heart Foundation and the Met Police have been approached for comment.
