Love Island star Jake Cornish has blasted weight loss injections and begged fans to “wake up” after hearing a mum’s death had been linked to black-market “skinny jabs”.
The reality star hit out in a furious video rant, warning followers to ditch the dangerous injections and lose weight “the right way”.
The 28-year-old, who often shares fitness tips and workouts online, slammed the growing trend of using drugs like Mounjaro – one of the UK’s most popular private weight-loss jabs – saying people should “just get dieting”.
In the clip, he fumed: “Guys, I’m just saying, yeah, I know a lot of people are on these Mounjaro jabs and that, but f*** me this lady, a mum, she has just died.
“She’s been taking these jabs, and she’s died.
“It ain’t worth it.
“People who want to lose weight – just do it the right way.
“It will take a bit longer.
“Just get dieting, move your legs.
“This fat loss and injection stuff – it’s so bad for you just to lose some weight.
“Honestly, people, you need to f***ing wake up, man, you’re injecting this shit into you.
“I can’t explain it – it’s just so f***ing bad for you.”
Jake’s outburst comes as health experts warn more than 1.5 million Brits are now using so-called fat jabs, despite reports of serious – and in rare cases fatal – side effects.
These can include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, hair loss, stomach pain, pancreatitis and even problems with the kidneys and gallbladder.
Celebs have also joined the chorus of concern.
Game of Thrones beauty Sophie Turner has spoken out about the worrying rise in people turning to weight-loss injections.
Reality star Bethenny Frankel has also urged caution over the “unknown side effects”, while Sharon Osbourne admitted she went “too far” with her own jab use, warning fans to “be careful what you wish for”.
And Celebrity Traitors star Stephen Fry told of his “harrowing experience” on Ozempic – a drug similar to Mounjaro and Wegovy – claiming he was “throwing up multiple times a day” before quitting, as reported by Need To Know.
Jake, who shot to fame on Love Island 2021, is now appearing on MTV’s The Challenge and also works as a DJ and influencer.

During his 54 days in the Mallorca villa, he was famously coupled up with Liberty Poole, 26, but their romance ended dramatically just before the final when Liberty decided to walk away, doubting his feelings.
The Weston-super-Mare lad later revealed he’d been in a secret relationship, which he confirmed in May 2024 after a brief stint on Love Island: All Stars – though it’s not known if the pair are still together.
