A new sex robot fitted with its own AI-generated sense of humour has gone on sale and manufacturers claim it can make people laugh more than humans do.
Emma uses a large database of cultural references, emotional cues and speech patterns.
Developers claim this allows her to hold conversations that are “more realistic, more adaptable and more appealing to a global audience”.

Apparently, her sense of humour will only improve over time as the system continues to learn from user interactions, as reported by Need To Know.
But good laughs don’t come cheap.
The model, which is produced by AI Tech Shenzhen and is powered by Doubao, a Chinese AI engine, costs £4,220.
The latest version has upgrades in both intelligence and physical design.
According to the company, Doubao functions as a counterpart to Western systems like ChatGPT, offering natural language processing and deep-learning capabilities.
Emma is described as dynamic and continually improving, rather than relying on pre-programmed responses.
“Emma AI Robot combines advanced conversational AI with lifelike silicone design to deliver a product that is natural, durable, and intelligent,” said a spokesperson for the adult website Cloudclimax, the UK-based company that sells the product.
“AI Tech Shenzhen’s careful, step-by-step approach ensures each release is premium and perfected.
“Emma AI is more than a robot- she’s an evolving fusion of artificial intelligence and craftsmanship.
“And this is only the beginning of her journey.”
