Coastguard crews had their Christmas party thrown into chaos after they were called out to rescue a man and his vehicle trapped in raging Storm Bram.
Teams were midway through their annual festive bash and quiz on Tuesday (9 December) evening when their pagers went off, and Falmouth Coastguard warned of a person and a vehicle stuck on water and rocks at Burgh Island.
Coastguard units, police and paramedics were scrambled to the scene as brutal winds and violent seas hammered the coastline.

Coastguard teams from Bigbury and Yealm quickly located the casualty, who was soaked to the skin and freezing after ending up in the water, as reported by Need To Know.
Coastguard Rescue Officers assessed the situation and confirmed the person was able to make it back onto solid ground.
With two teams already in action, the Kingsbridge crew, who had also raced out, were stood down and allowed to return to their festive celebrations.
Kingsbridge Coastguard Rescue Team said: “With no further assets required on scene, our team stood down and returned to their Christmas meal!”
After being brought to safety, the man was rewarmed and checked over by ambulance staff before making his own way to the hospital.
The drama unfolded as Storm Bram battered the Atlantic, blasting the region with winds topping 90mph, dangerous flooding and fierce, unpredictable weather.
