The tragic accident occurred on Monday night (5 Jan) in Paracuru, north-west of Fortaleza, Brazil.
Thayze, 42, was spending the beginning of the year at her mother’s house with her daughter and a brother.
She had been there for five days and was due to return home to Rondonópolis – halfway across the country – on Saturday (10 Jan).

Making the most of her coastal break, she had messaged a friend the day before: “Rest, beach… but now I’m at the gym. Back to the routine, right? Cardio with a sea view.”
Well known in Rondonópolis, Thayze owned a glass company, as reported by Need To Know.
She had worked alongside her father in the family business since she was 16 and took over the company after his death six years ago.
Rondonópolis City Hall paid tribute to Thayze, saying: “She built a career defined by dedication and commitment to her work.
“She forged a legacy of responsible entrepreneurship, becoming a respected figure in the glass industry and contributing to the city’s economic growth as well as to the fulfillment of countless clients’ dreams.”

A friend wrote online: “Thayze, I still can’t believe you’re gone. It was far too soon – you had so much life in you and so many plans.”
Thayze had wished to be cremated and have her ashes scattered at sea.
However, due to the lengthy and bureaucratic process, which required court authorisation, her family has decided on burial instead.
The Paracuru Civil Police are investigating the case.
