An MP was fuming after “raw sewage” was seen pouring onto a beauty spot beach during half-term holidays.
Ben Maguire was disgusted at the brown discharge and vowed to raise it with the authorities.
Locals were just as angry and demanded action.
It happened at Widemouth Bay in Bude, Cornwall.

A video of the sewage spilling onto the beach was watched 245,000 times and had over 1,400 likes, as reported by Need To Know.
Maguire, MP for North Cornwall, said: “Half-term, and raw sewage is being dumped straight onto the beach at Widemouth Bay.

“As tourism numbers rise and families head out to enjoy the beach, sewage is being discharged into the sea.
“I’ve seen young children playing just metres away from the sewage.
“This is completely unacceptable.
“I’ll be raising these repeated failings directly with the water minister [Emma Hardy] in my upcoming urgent meeting.
“We cannot continue to be treated like a dumping ground.
“A lot of visitors on the beaches won’t know just how dangerous this is.
“It’s completely unacceptable.”
Residents went online to express their dismay at the video.
Gilly Arnold said: “Totally unacceptable.

“There need to be large signs warning the public on every beach and river affected.”
Shane Woods added: “Why isn’t it being filtered in a water treatment plant before its pumped out?
“Raw sewage should be going to landfill.”
Cathy Coleman said: “I don’t think it’s acceptable that raw or treated overflow sewage is discharged into the sea or watercourses in the UK at all.”

And Julie Davies-Brokas said: “Used to come down for holidays when I was a child and came down a few times as an adult with our girls.
“Not now though.
“This is disgraceful.”
