They sent a message to their nanny, who was looking after their two children aged five years and nine months, to explain that they were going to wait for the rain to subside.
However, it was the last message they would ever send.

When they failed to return home, concerned relatives and wedding guests posted alerts on social media.
The flash flood dragged their white Nissan Versa towards an irrigation canal where it overturned with both of them trapped inside.
Mariano’s brother went to the police station early on Sunday morning to report their disappearance.
Hours later, the upside-down vehicle was found in the irrigation ditch.
Emergency workers found Mariano and Solana’s lifeless bodies locked in an embrace inside the wreckage.

In the last known images of the couple alive, they appeared happy while dancing with friends at the wedding at the SMATA complex in the town of Tafí Viejo in northern Argentina.
Mariano worked as a civil servant at the Tucumán Government Palace while his wife worked for the state-run savings bank Caja Popular de Ahorros.
They leave behind their two young children.
An investigation into the circumstances leading up to their deaths is ongoing.
A third victim was confirmed during the storm in Tucumán region on Saturday night, as reported by Need To Know.
Lisandro, 12, was reportedly electrocuted to death after touching a utility pole in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán while playing football with friends.
