Dramatic pictures show a car completely engulfed in flames after a late-night fire shut a major road.
Firefighters said the vehicle was “well alight” when crews arrived, with smoke and flames “issuing from all areas”.
Emergency services were initially on their way to a separate incident when they were suddenly diverted to the fire.

The shocking scenes unfolded on the A38 near Ivybridge in the early hours of Sunday (19 April), reports Need To Know.
According to Newton Abbot Fire Station, crews reached the scene just 21 seconds after being alerted.

In a statement shared online, firefighters said: “Our crew arrived on scene where they discovered one vehicle to be well alight, with smoke and flames issuing from all areas of the vehicle.”
Both lanes of the busy road were closed as crews worked to tackle the blaze.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to bring the flames under control, while equipment was used to force open the bonnet and doors to check for remaining hotspots.
Colleagues from Ivybridge Fire Station also attended, helping to supply water and manage runoff from the fire to protect the surrounding environment.

The vehicle was completely destroyed in the incident.
The fire service later confirmed the cause of the blaze was accidental.
The incident took place between 1.20am and 3.20am.
Crews had earlier been mobilised to assist with an unrelated emergency in Plymouth, before being redirected to the vehicle fire.
After returning towards base, firefighters were called out again to help free a person trapped inside a bedroom due to a faulty door mechanism.
Using a 13.5-metre ladder, crews accessed the property through a fourth-floor window and safely released the occupant.
