The arm connecting the carriage to the centre of the ride can be seen apparently breaking loose, sending the carriage plummeting towards the ground.
The incident in Tangier, Morocco, sparked panic among visitors and holidaymakers at the busy venue, with reports of injuries following the accident.
Those affected were reportedly taken to hospital for treatment, with local reports saying some of the injuries included fractures.
Local and rights groups have reportedly called for an investigation into the accident and for the safety of the other rides at the venue to be checked.
A technical inspection will be needed to determine exactly what caused the apparent mechanical failure, as reported by Need To Know.
The latest incident was reminiscent of a previous amusement ride accident in Tangier.
In July 2019, 20 people aged between 13 and 26 were injured after an unexpected malfunction affected a circular swing at an amusement area.
Additional injuries were reportedly caused by a crowd surge that followed the incident.
Authorities, security services and civil protection personnel intervened and took the injured to hospital, while two people were placed under medical observation.
