Sadly, on 23 Oct, the mother-of-two’s body was found under the bridge, as reported by Need To Know.
She was discovered underneath the 7th Street Trafficway Bridge in Kansas City, Kansas.
After she was identified over the weekend, a preliminary autopsy revealed that there were no signs of foul play.

Kansas Police Department said it believes that Rivera died as the result of a fatal fall.
Force spokesperson Nancy Chartrand confirmed to the Kansas City Star that their investigation indicated her death was a “tragic accident”.
She mentioned an empty, narrow space between the north and south lanes of the bridge as a potential reason for the fall.
Nancy told the Kansas City Star that: “It kind of looks like it’s one continuous deck bridge, but there’s actually a gap. If you were trying to go from one side to the other, you could possibly fall.”

Following her tragic death, Rivera’s aunt has now started a petition for the gap to be closed.
Cassie Bennett said: “On a fateful evening, my beloved niece lost her life due to a safety oversight that should never have existed.
“This tragedy occurred on the 7th Street Bridge, a structure in our city that thousands of people depend on every day.
“There is a gap on this bridge between the two medians that, despite repeated concerns raised by the community, has remained unaddressed.

“This fatal accident could have been avoided if the city had taken timely action to ensure the safety of its citizens.
“Bridges are vital infrastructure, designed to connect us, not to endanger our lives.
“The gap on the 7th Street Bridge symbolises a failure in maintaining our city’s safety standards.
“Unfortunately, it took the unimaginable loss of my niece to highlight this pressing safety concern.

“This gap, although seemingly small, poses a high risk of accident and injury to pedestrians and motorists alike.
“The continued neglect of this issue represents a disregard for the safety and lives of our community members.”
Jam Press has approached the Kansas Department of Transportation for a comment.
