Man reunited with dog that evaded cops after horror, icy road car smash A thrilled man has been reunited with his dog that vanished after he flipped his car on an icy road. George Grundy was lucky to survive after his white Nissan Juke flipped twice before hitting a wall and a tree and going down a verge. He had his two German Shepherds Nalla and Kenzo with him in the car at the time Cops who arrived at the scene of the horror smash looked after them for him. But he said scared Nalla ran off when the door of a force van was opened at the police station. George, 22 - who suffered back injuries - was then told she was missing as he was going in for an X-ray in hospital compounding his suffering. He crashed on the A83 near Port Ann, Scotland on Friday (20 January) morning.

But miraculously Nalla was found in Lochgilphead on Monday.

George, of Ardrishaig, said: “We were travelling from my house to the beach at Port Ann and I took a bend which was covered in ice.

“My car glided over the other side of the road, hit a wall and flipped twice and ended up in a tree.

“Police came to the scene and collected one of my dogs but Nalla would not leave the ambulance with me.

“So she had to come to A&E and I’ve then managed to get her into the back of the police van.

“But when she arrived at the police station they opened the van door and Nalla bolted from them.

“I was going into an X-ray and the police said she was lost.”

George – who lives with partner Warren, 23 – added: “I have a few small cracks on my spine but I was more concerned for Nalla being alone.

“She’s a rescue and has zero trust in anyone else other than my partner.

“She is scared of people.”

After various sightings over the weekend, Nalla was found by cops on Monday (23 January).

“I got a call from Police Scotland to say she was seen.

“I took me and my other dog up there and it was like a movie scene with the reunion.”

George has had Nalla, seven, for five years and Kenzo, two, for one year – both are rescue dogs.

“I am so happy to have her back,” he added.

In heartwarming videos George gave Nalla a stroke and said “She’s home” after she was found.

Nalla and Kenzo then cuddled up with each other back at their home.

Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
