Nigella Lawson is trying to bring back a classic 70s pudding and make it popular again.

The TV cook goddess has sparked a revival of the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake.

She has dubbed it “retrofabulous” and her fans are behind her.

They have reminiceded about making it in cooking classes at school.

Another remembered their grandmas and mums making it for them 50 years ago.

Topped with sliced pineapple and glaze cherries, it is made by flipping it over at the end so they are on the top.

Fan Jackie Eyre said: “Classic, happy memories of my mum making this.”

Her recipe makes a Pineapple Upside-Down Cake for up to eight people.

Ingredients include six slices of pineapple, 11 glace cherries, flour and eggs.

Last month, Nigella was hailed for her unattractive hot cross buns, as reported on Need To Know.

In 2020, she was ridiculed for calling a ‘microwave’ a ‘mee-cro-wah-vay’.

Nigella is known for her unusual food habits.

She has previously put caramel on potatoes and marmite on spaghetti.
