Horror footage shows how a bull tossed a man around like a rag doll at a bullfighting event.

Spectators scream as the bull lifts him off the sand with its horns and dumps him on the ground again.

It then pushes him across the ring before trampling him underfoot on Saturday (22 Jun).

The man picks himself up but stumbles as the bull retraces its steps and scoops him up a second time.

He’s tossed through the air like a rag doll and lands again with a thud.

Other men try to distract the bull by waving pieces of fabric as the injured man drags himself along the sand.

A second piece of footage shows how another bull flung a second man through the air in Guamo, Tolima, Colombia.

The incidents took place amid the festivals of San Juan and San Pedro, which began on 21 Jun and will end on 1 July.

The traditional events seen in the footage are called “corralejas”, where members of the public engage bulls in the bullring.

Unlike in Spain, there is no pomp and the bulls are not killed afterwards, as reported on Need To Know.

A bill prohibiting all forms of bullfighting was approved by both houses of Colombia’s parliament on 12 June.

However, President Gustavo Petro still needs to sign the bill into law.

Then, all events involving cruelty towards bulls will cease over a three-year transition period.

Alexa commented: “Man is victim of his own invention.”
