Rock music fans might have reason to celebrate soon, as Liam and Noel Gallagher have reignited speculation about an Oasis reunion with a cryptic teaser on social media.

The famously feuding brothers both shared the same mysterious video on their X accounts, featuring the date “27.08.24” that later transforms into “8am,” sparking excitement among fans that a major announcement is on the horizon.

The Gallagher brothers, whose tumultuous relationship has been the stuff of rock legend, are known for their public spats and occasional reconciliations. Their recent online activity, however, has fueled rumors that the iconic Manchester band could be set to reunite, more than a decade after their dramatic split.

The video, featuring text in the style reminiscent of the classic Oasis logo, was also posted on the official Oasis X account, further adding to the speculation.

This comes after a weekend filled with whispers that the brothers may be on the verge of mending fences and bringing Oasis back together. Industry insiders have suggested that the band is already slated for a 10-night run at Wembley Stadium, which would surpass Taylor Swift’s recent record-breaking eight-night stint at the venue.

There are also rumors of a massive show at Manchester’s Heaton Park and a potential headline slot at Glastonbury.

Liam Gallagher stoked the flames of reunion chatter earlier on Sunday when he cryptically tweeted, “I never did like that word FORMER,” in response to fans asking about the band’s status.

His playful interactions with followers continued, hinting at more news to come. When one fan criticized Heaton Park as a concert venue, Liam cheekily responded, “See you down the front.”

Another query about when official dates might be announced received a teasing reply: “Next Friday.”

During his headline performance at the Reading Festival later that evening, Liam dedicated the Oasis classic “Half The World Away” to his brother Noel, a gesture that did not go unnoticed by the crowd.

As the set concluded, the same video teasing Tuesday’s date was projected onto the stage’s main screens, leaving fans buzzing with anticipation.

Oasis, formed in 1991, became one of the most influential bands of the Britpop era, with anthems like “Wonderwall,” “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” and “Live Forever” cementing their place in music history.

However, the band famously imploded in 2009 after a backstage altercation between the Gallagher brothers at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, where Liam reportedly smashed one of Noel’s guitars, leading to Noel’s abrupt departure and the end of the band.

Despite years of bitter exchanges and public jabs, rumors of a reunion have persisted, especially in recent months as the brothers seem to have softened their stance.

This latest development comes as Oasis’ groundbreaking debut album “Definitely Maybe” approaches its 30th anniversary, with a special edition release planned to mark the occasion.

Adding more fuel to the fire, Noel Gallagher recently offered uncharacteristically positive comments about his brother in an interview with music journalist John Robb.

Speaking at Manchester’s Sifters Records, Noel acknowledged Liam’s unique vocal style, saying, “It’s the delivery or the tone of his voice and the attitude. I don’t have the same attitude as him.”

He even humorously compared Liam’s voice to “10 shots of tequila on a Friday night,” contrasting it with his own, which he likened to “half a Guinness on a Tuesday.”

Since Oasis’ split, both Gallagher brothers have pursued successful solo careers, with Noel fronting his band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Liam releasing four solo albums.

Whether their recent social media activity is leading to a full-fledged reunion or simply another chapter in their long-running saga remains to be seen, but fans are undoubtedly eager to find out.
