A man accused of murder has been arrested on a beach after he shared holiday snaps of his whereabouts on social media.

Adrián Gabriel Vignardi was soaking up some sun with his girlfriend and mother-in-law when he was detained by police.

The 28-year-old is suspected of murdering Leandro Nicolás Mesa who died after suffering gunshot wounds.

On 7 July last year, 23-year-old Leandro and his grandfather, Juan Carlos Salas, were targeted on a street.

Leandro had stepped out of his home to greet Juan, 67, when three individuals, allegedly including Vignardi, arrived on two motorcycles.

The men allegedly fired guns at Leandro and Juan in the town of José León Suárez, near Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Leandro suffered shots to his abdomen and Juan sustained injuries to his right arm.

Juan survived the brutal attack but his grandson died in hospital the following day.

Vignadi was located on a beach in Mar del Plata, Argentina, 274 miles away from where Leandro was killed, as reported by Need To Know.

Officers disguised themselves as street vendors and beach-goers as they searched the sands.

Vignadi was resting beside his 22-year-old girlfriend and her mother when undercover agents revealed themselves and arrested him.

The operation was carried out by the Homicide Cabinet of the Departmental Directorate of Investigations in the Judicial Function of Mar del Plata.

Vignadi was delivered to a police station where he is accused of homicide aggravated by the use of a firearm.
