The property listing of a quirky circular home is raising eyebrows after viewers spotted the rather overlooked position of the property – smack bang in the middle of an estate.

The round-shaped house, which boasts two bedrooms and two bathrooms, sits at the heart of a courtyard, with numerous other dwellings surrounding it from every angle.

While it is certainly the most unique of the homes, the house may not be suitable for those wanting privacy behind closed doors – that is, unless the curtains are pulled.

Social media users have likened the North Lanarkshire-based home to “living in a fish bowl” and “prison”.

One person commented: “Very unique but also very overlooked. Could feel a bit like living in a fish bowl.”

“I do like it. It’s a shame it’s so overlooked,” another user agreed.

Someone else said it was “for people who want to be the centre of attention”, while another said they would be “self-conscious” living there.

Another called an image showing how surrounded the home is “intense”.

“I must be nosey as f**k, look at all those people I can watch!” said someone else.

Another viewer commented: “Sorry not for me – all these surroundings look like prison and courtyard for prisoners daily walk.”

One user suggested: “I’d buy the whole complex, move all my friends and their partners and kids in. The middle house would be their school, we’d rotate teaching our special subject. All of the green parts would be turned into veg growing and small holdings for goats and chickens. The kids could all run and play safely in the middle. Dreamy.”

Another person joked: “Ultimate zombie apocalypse stronghold.”

However, if the surroundings don’t put you off, the two-story home itself is light and bright inside, with curved walls and windows looking out onto the neighbourhood.

Inside, there is an open-plan living and dining room, “very well-equipped” kitchen, two large double bedrooms, a downstairs toilet and a master bathroom upstairs.

Described as a “traditional detached villa”, the property is on Steadings Home Farm Court in Coatbridge, a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland.

The B-listed steading development was redeveloped in 2005.

The home is currently on the market with the Property Bureau for £269,995.
