A teenager was stabbed after allegedly being ambushed by thieves who stole his £1,000 electric bike.
Tyler Boyd said he was on his way to his grandad’s house when three men jumped out and kicked him off it.
The 17-year-old said he “didn’t have chance to put up a fight” as he was then stabbed in the back, inches from his spine.

Mum Georgina, 36, described the phone call from the hospital as “every parent’s worst nightmare.”
“Tyler turned a corner and three men jumped out and kicked him off his bike,” Georgina, from Whiston, near Liverpool Merseyside, told Need to Know.

“As he went to stand up they stabbed him right at the top of the buttocks, an inch away from his spine.
“He didn’t have chance to fight back.
“He’s not a fighter but he can stand his ground. When knives are involved he didn’t stand a chance.
“It’s every parent’s worst nightmare.”
Tyler managed to walk five minutes to his grandad’s house and was taken to hospital.
Medics said if the wound had been an inch to the left then the restaurant worker would have been paralysed.

Tyler’s wound didn’t require surgery but the puncture was stitched up.
The mum-of-three said: “When I got the call, I jumped out of bed.
“You hear about kids getting stabbed but nothing can prepare you for that.”
“My head completely fell off.
“I was running around the house not knowing what to do.
“We’re so glad he was close to his grandad’s because I wouldn’t have known where he was if he’d collapsed.

“At the hospital, I broke down and had a panic attack.
“He’d lost so much blood, it wouldn’t stop.
“There were seven police officers outside his room putting his clothes in evidence bags.”
Beauty business owner Georgina bought Tyler the bike for Christmas.
Georgina said the family are so traumatised that they’re planning to move out of the area.

She added: “Although he’s okay now, the whole family are traumatised.
“I’ve had terrible nightmares since.
“I’ll be scared to death when he leaves the house.
“He isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
“I know it happens everywhere but it’s only going to get worse so we want to move out of the area to somewhere quieter.

“Tyler’s a tough cookie but this would affect anybody.
“Carrying knives for a piece of metal is not worth it.
“It’s not worth potentially taking someone’s life for a bike.”
It happened on Wednesday (28 May).
Merseyside Police has been approached for comment.
