Eighteen other arachnids were found inside the property.

Toppled over containers were sprawled across the rooms.

Some of the spiders had sadly died.

The previous tenant admitted that she left the spiders behind when moving out.

The woman who has now been out in emergency accommodation, estimated there were as many as 22 in there originally.

The horrifying discovery was made in a tower block at Bramall Court, Cannon Street, Salford, Gtr Mancs.

The four arachnids were safely removed from the flat and have been rehomed with a reptile specialist.

The former tenant has now signed off ownership of the surviving animals to the RSPCA through a third party.

Animal Rescue Officer David Cottingham searched the home after a concerned caller who had access to the flat got in touch.

The rescue mission took place on (23 Jun), as reported by Need To Know.

He said: “This was a very upsetting situation. These exotic animals had clearly been left behind without proper care or concern.

“Tarantulas require specific housing, temperature, and humidity levels to survive – conditions that had clearly not been met.

“It’s lucky we were able to save the four that we did.

“This case highlights why exotic pets, including invertebrates like tarantulas, should only ever be kept by individuals who fully understand and are prepared for the commitment and responsibility involved.

“These spiders suffered needlessly due to abandonment and neglect, and it could have been much worse if they had gone unnoticed.”
