The British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) were called to rescue the marine animal, which was described as being alive at the time.
Sadly, despite swiftly arriving on scene, the female whale had already died, reports Need To Know.

It has since been taken in by Marine Environmental Monitoring for a post-mortem to determine the cause.
Pilot whales, while not uncommon in British waters, are usually seen in large groups.
They are typically found in the North Atlantic Ocean and can measure up to a whopping 708st, measuring up to 19ft.
The BDMLR advises beachgoers coming across a whale or dolphin to not attempt pushing it back into the sea.
