A health expert was stabbed to death, and the suspect then tried to flee the scene by plunging 13 feet from a window.
Nutritionist Daniela Julieth Ríos Grajeda – known as July – was knifed multiple times in her first‑floor bedroom.
Her screams alerted neighbours, who rushed to the scene and confronted the attacker.

The suspect – identified only as Marco Alexander – attempted to abscond by jumping from a window.
He fell about 13 ft (4m), injured himself, and was restrained by neighbours before being handed to the police.
The suspect listened to black metal music, according to reports.

Investigators say there was no clear personal motive and no friendship or relationship between him and July 24.
Before the attack, the suspect had boarded several buses without a fixed route from Tonalá, on the outskirts of Guadalajara, north west of Mexico City, Mexico, as reported by Need To Know.
Dressed in a black cape and carrying a tactical knife, he allegedly arrived at July’s home in Zapopan, entered, climbed the stairs, and attacked her in her bedroom.
Originally from Puerto Vallarta, July had moved to Guadalajara just over a year ago to work as a nutritionist and provide consultancy services at a gym.

She had graduated from the University of Guadalajara’s branch in her hometown with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition.
Her alma mater described her as “committed to the health and well‑being of others”.
At a hearing on Tuesday (30 Sept), a judge ordered Marco to be held in custody on remand for one year.
He faces charges of homicide with aggravating factors.
