The fitness star also ran his own gym, Muscle Factory, in his home city and was on the brink of opening a brand new facility in Hefei, China.
His death was confirmed today (17 December) by the Anhui Provincial Bodybuilding Association, as reported by Need To Know.
In a brief statement, a spokesperson said his untimely passing “seems to be due to a heart problem”.

Just days before his death, Wang had shared an upbeat message with fans on social media.
Apparently referring to his new gym venture, he wrote: “A new starting point, a new world, is right before my eyes.”
In a previous interview, Wang revealed the extreme sacrifices he made to reach the top of the sport.
He said he lived a “monk’s life” for a decade to transform himself into a champion, going on to claim eight straight national titles.

Wang said his strict diet consisted of hot pot broth with meat dipped in soy sauce and boiled chicken breast.
The dedicated bodybuilder also told fans that during Chinese New Year he would spend the entire holiday training in the gym rather than celebrating.
Following the shock news, tributes poured in from devastated fans online.
One wrote: “Kun, RIP. What a pity.”

Another added: “Rest in peace champ.”
