A thug who stabbed and shot his own friend in a “ferocious” attack was arrested by armed police moments later.
Callun Bermingham stabbed his pal six times before horrifically shooting him in the back after the pair had spent the night together.
The 38-year-old had been drinking alcohol and taking drugs with the victim before they went to a property in Repton Close, Luton.

A row then erupted between the pair, with Bermingham stabbing the man six times in the upper body, including the head and face.
The “ferocious and sustained attack” unfolded on 25 March last year, as reported by Need To Know.
Shortly afterwards, Bermingham shot his friend in the back before fleeing the scene in a blue Jaguar.
Emergency services were called after the victim collapsed in a neighbour’s garden while desperately searching for help.
The attack left him with life-threatening injuries, and he spent weeks in hospital in a critical condition before eventually being discharged.
Specialist armed officers were deployed to the Dallow area after Bermingham failed to stop for police.
Following a short chase, he was arrested on Conway Road after crashing while driving the wrong way down a one-way street and hitting three other vehicles.
Police discovered a loaded firearm and a bottle of vodka inside the car.

On Tuesday (5 May), Bermingham appeared at Luton Crown Court following an investigation by the Bedfordshire Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.
He pleaded guilty to Section 18 GBH after previously admitting firearm possession and dangerous driving offences.
Bermingham is due to be sentenced on 24 June.
Verity McCann, from the BCH Major Crime Unit, said: “Bermingham is a dangerous man who carried out what can only be described as a ferocious and sustained attack on the victim.

“This incident could easily have resulted in Bermingham killing his friend. Anyone with a propensity for violence of this level has no place in our community.
“I would like to thank the teams who reacted so quickly to arrest Bermingham, and the detectives who have worked tirelessly to bring him to justice, particularly officers from Luton Criminal Investigation Department and the Major Crime Unit.”
