A dealer attempted a Hot Fuzz-style getaway before hiding in a shed following a £1.3m drug bust.

Marc Kane’s attempt at fleeing from cops did not go to plan after officers discovered him tucked away under various garden items in the shed.

The 43-year-old hopped over fences to escape Norfolk Police after being involved in a large-scale cocaine distribution.

The drug dealer has now been sentenced to 10 years in jail after an investigation by Norfolk Police’s Serious Organised Crime Unit, as reported by Need To Know.

£1.3m worth of Class A drugs were seized during the investigation.

The operation took place around Great Yarmouth with six other members involved in the group.

Kane, from Coronilla Green, Gorleston, was sentenced on 8 May at Norwich Crown Court.

He had previously pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Operation Accent took place between March 2024 and August 2024, focussing on large-scale cocaine distribution in Gorleston.

Kane had ultimate control of the group and was saved in another member’s phone as ‘Corleone’ – a reference to the Godfather mafia movies.

On 1 Aug 2024, his house on John Road, Gorleston, was raided ending in his arrest.

10kg of cocaine with a street value of £1m was found in the home.

The other head of the group, Ashley Youngman, was arrested at the front of the property with Kane fleeing over fences before eventually being found in a shed.

They revealed to cops how they stored drugs in remote “stash sites” which included hedgerows.

Hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of cocaine were retrieved from these areas.

Youngman, who was sentenced to eight years and six months on 10 Nov 2025, lived a lavish lifestyle alongside Kane.

Despite neither of them having any significant legitimate income, they often flaunted their wealth.

The raid on Kane’s home saw £20,530 worth of designer clothes seized and he also had a Louis Vuitton account where he had spent £12,545 in 12 months.

The dealer also bought a £22,000 Range Rover Evoque with cash and spent £16,939 on tickets for an online competition to win a car and a motorbike – which he won.

Kane also spent £5,981 on hire cars, which he used to move the drugs between Jan and Aug 2024.

Detective Sergeant Eddie Hammond said: “Kane and Youngman saw themselves as untouchable – the fact they are both now behind bars is testament to months of hard work by dedicated officers.

“Drug trafficking is a major source of revenue for organised crime groups. And while the leaders of this OCG flaunted that wealth, their enterprise brought a culture of violence and addiction to the local community.

“The fact that members of this gang have now been jailed for a total of more than 37 years sends a clear message that we will continue to target those responsible for the supply of drugs in Norfolk and ensure offenders are held accountable before the courts.”

Other members of the gang jailed were Dominic Wilkins, 25, who was sentenced to six years in prison, Hayder Gilgil, 20, who was imprisoned for four years, Joe Drysdale, 31, was sentenced to three years and six months, Ben French, 49, was handed three years in jail and Michael Rushmer, 34, for two years and eight months.
