A pair of £1,400 x-rays of Marilyn Monroe’s chest and pelvis are heading under the hammer, ahead of what would’ve been her 100th birthday.
The controversial medical scans of the glamorous 1950s sex symbol are now being auctioned.
The sale includes a number of x-rays from the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital.

The scans gaining the most attention include ones done by her gynaecologist Dr. Leon Krohn of her chest and pelvis, as reported by Need To Know.
Both x-rays were taken in 1954 at the historic hospital located in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
Gynaecological issues sadly plagued the star throughout her life.
Each x-ray has an estimated value of £1,477 ($2,000) with the chest scan already surpassing that in bids.

The medical documents are part of the 100 Years of Marilyn sale presented by Julien’s Auctions and TCM.
Bidding closes on 4 Jun, both online and in person, at the Peninsula Beverly Hills.
The medical documents feature the name Marilyn DiMaggio as at the time she was married to baseball icon Joe DiMaggio.
Another set of x-rays from 1952 feature in the auction in the form of a large intestine and gallbladder scan.

Dr. Myron Prinzmetal, the star’s cardiologist, requested the scans.
Both items have an estimated value of £1,477 ($2,000) and were taken nine years before her gallbladder was removed.
The auction also includes a brassiere worn by Monroe in the 50s – which has already racked up £2,033 ($2,750) in bids.
The most expensive item in the entire auction has an estimated value of £147,877 ($200,000).
The star’s Minaudiere gold-tone evening purse is the gem of the sale.
A spokesperson for Julien’s Auctions stated: “Marilyn Monroe is arguably one of the world’s most recognizable figures.

“Even if you’ve never seen one of her movies, you know her face.
“You’ve seen it on magazine covers, posters, coffee mugs, t-shirts, handbags, and almost any other product conceivable.
“As her popularity and legacy expands into the 21st century, Julien’s Auctions is thrilled to be celebrating what would have been her centennial birthday this June, 2026, with an auction titled ‘100 Years of Marilyn’.”
