An influencer has died of a sudden heart attack in a hotel room aged 32.
Zheng Lei Lei, who built a following of nearly 100,000 fans on the Chinese social network Douyin, passed away last Friday (15 May).
The influencer died in a guesthouse in Yiyang, China, in the early hours of the morning.

She was reportedly discovered unresponsive by hotel staff after she failed to check out on time.
The emergency services arrived quickly at the hotel, but paramedics were unable to revive her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 32-year-old’s passing was confirmed by her mother on her Douyin page two days later.

Fellow content creator Hunan Bian Da Shi, who collaborated with Lei Lei on multiple videos, paid tribute to her online.
He described her as “enthusiastic”, “full of positive energy” and “a strong woman who single-handedly supported her entire family”.
He expressed shock at the “sudden accident” and noted that police were investigating.
The police said they have shared the results of their investigation with the family and stressed the case was “not criminal”.
Unconfirmed accounts from those close to her point to long-term overwork, irregular hours common in the influencer industry, and social drinking as possible contributing factors to her heart attack.

The influencer’s body was cremated on the morning of 19 May at a local funeral home, with fans gathering the previous day to pay their respects.
Lei Lei’s final livestream took place on the afternoon of 13 May, during which she appeared in good spirits promoting local products.
Her account features 384 videos on beauty tips, local food, and light-hearted skits, as reported by Need To Know.
