A woman has gone to extreme lengths to transform her body with tattoos, piercings and body modifications – and has changed the colour of her eyeballs from yellow to red in her latest transformation.
Carol Prado, 35, from São Paulo, @a_mulher_demonia on Instagram, works full-time as a body piercer and body modification specialist helping her clients modify their body to achieve their desired look.
At the age of 16, Carol had her first piercing and inked her first tattoo at 21-years-old – since then, Carol became obsessed with body modifications, saying it was like “love at first sight”.
Carol, who calls herself a “demon woman”, has inked dozens of tattoos on her body and face and has even split her tongue in two for a lizard-like appearance.
“I have always liked tattoos since I was very young,” Carol said.
“For body modifications, it was love at first sight. When I started to see and study these procedures, I felt chills in my belly and my heart racing.
“I knew it was a profession that I wanted to follow.
“My favourite tattoos are the ones on my face, they symbolize my marriage with Mandalas.
“And the eye tattoo that sees beyond reach with Horus and Brutal is the way we deal with pain.
“The most painful body modification was the bifurcation of the tongue and the most painful tattoo was the one on the eye contour.”
In her latest body modification, Carol has tattooed her eyeballs red after previously inking them yellow.
Surprisingly, Carol said the procedure was painless.
And her reason behind changing her eyeball colour was because she felt red suited her better.
“I thought I’d change the colour of my eyes as I thought red suited me better. I tattooed them twice, the first time yellow and the second time red. It was painless.”
Carol has received mixed reactions from people due to her unique appearance – but she chooses to ignore them and focuses on how she feels on the inside.
She said: “My friends and family respect my look, that’s most important.
“Some people tell me my tattoos ‘don’t make me hot anymore’.
“I receive bad comments all the time but I prefer to ignore them because I know who I really am.”
