A woman has been left stunned after finding a lost cat sitting under a tree whilst staring at its own ‘lost cat’ sign.
Twitter user @bamf_ has gone viral online after revealing his sister found a missing cat sitting directly under its own wanted poster.
Since sharing a picture of the remarkable event, the post has garnered 2.6 million views, 90,500 likes and 8,100 retweets.
The cat revelled in the attention before being returned safely home.
In the tweet he wrote: “I’m having an apocalyptic day in an apocalyptic month and a half, so I’m going to tell you something wonderful.
“Today my sister found a missing cat WHILE LOOKING AT HER OWN ‘WANTED’ POSTER.”
The user stated that his sister had been walking down a street when she came across a cat relaxing under a tree.
However, she was shocked to realise that the stray puss was actually looking at its own ‘lost cat’ sign.
Despite picture evidence, some people were quick to dismiss the tweet as a lie, however, @bamf_ wanted to set the story straight.
He revealed that his sister called the owner of the cat, and they have both been reunited
He continued: “Well, this has gone viral in a crazy way, so for the doubters of little faith: the story is true and my sister called the owner and went to pick up the cat.”
Although there were a few non-believers, most Twitter users were left amazed by the post.
Carolina wrote: “It’s beautiful thank you for sharing you are beautiful too.”
Maite said: “Wonderful! I’m glad the michi is at home now.” [sic]
Guido added: “The cat looking is looking at the sign and saying ‘gosh, poor thing, I’m going to take a walk to see if I see it’.” [sic]
“The world is already a little better for this,” someone else wrote.
Assia commented: “I propose that these signs be placed at the height of the cats so that they can see them and know that they are looking for them.”
