The video shows firefighters wading through a large stack of rubbish on the street after dragging it out of the back of the full bin lorry.
They find the barely conscious victim in the pile and carefully make a clearing before pulling him out.
Firefighters carry the victim to the side of the street to perform first aid on the man.
The rescue took place in the Colombian capital Bogotá yesterday (6 Mar).
The authorities have yet to release the victim’s identity or provide any details as to how he ended up in such a precarious situation.
One local said: “Homeless people often go into dustcarts looking for useful items or to protect themselves from the cold or even enemies.”
“Well done, a very valuable life has been saved,” wrote someone else.

Another said: “That was a very dangerous situation as many people die like that.”
