A woman has plunged into a sinkhole in her brand new car while taking her family for a spin.
Rachel Omezi bought the five-year-old Volkswagen Polo from the dealer on 20 Apr.
But just two hours later, the 22-year-old’s motor was wedged inside a hole that suddenly opened in the street.

After picking up her hatchback, she immediately drove to her sister’s house to show it off.
While taking her niece and nephew for a spin, the vehicle plunged into the sinkhole in Venlo, Netherlands, located close to the border with Germany.
Rachel told Need To Know: “I was around the corner from my sister’s house to drop the kids off when I made a turn and I fell through the ground.
“I was so shocked, I couldn’t believe what had just happened.”
The VW kept sinking further into the ground and the trio managed to get out in the nick of time.
Rachel said: “We got out of the car and I was shaking because of the adrenaline.
“My niece and nephew, who were sitting in the back, were also quite shocked.
“A lot of people stopped in the street and were also surprised.
“The police came arrived and closed the road, the hole was about 1.5 metres deep and within half an hour it was 4 to 5 metres.”
The emergency services were unable to remove the vehicle from the hole until later that night as it was considered too unsafe during the day.
Rachel said: “How could this happen?
“I’ve seen videos on Facebook of sinkholes in China and other countries, but how can something like this happen here in the Netherlands?
“A lot of people came to see the hole, there was a lot going on.
“The next day I was all over the internet.”
Locals speculated that the sinkhole was caused by a prolonged period of heavy rainfall, however the local authorities are expected to give an update on the situation in the coming days.
Rachel said “The car is at the garage now and it’s an insurance case.
“The car is badly damaged, especially at the front.
“I hope it will be ready at the end of the week.”
She added: “My insurance company is going to hold the council accountable for the sinkhole.”
