An anaesthetist has been sentenced to two years in prison for the manslaughter of a former model who died after getting lipo.
Silvana Inserra first had liposuction in 2018 to remove fat from her hips.
She went back to the same facility on 4 February 2020, to fix a small imperfection left behind from the previous op.

Three hours into the simple procedure, her husband, Antonio Sabatini, was told she needed to be transferred to another hospital.
Antonio says he was told at the time that “there was no danger” and that the situation was “under control”.
But medics at the second hospital told him his wife had arrived there “in a coma, with no neurological activity”.
Silvana, 47, died from a cardiac arrest at the second hospital in Rome, Italy, six days later.
It was caused by hypoxia with consequent episodes of bradycardia, as reported on Need To Know.
Hypoxia is a deficiency in the amount of oxygen delivered to the body tissues.
Bradycardia is an abnormally low rate of heartbeat.
It was ruled that Silvana’s condition was caused by the drugs used to sedate her.
Prosecutors accused the anaesthetist, Dr Scarcia D’Aprano, of failing to detect her severe condition and, as such, failing to remedy it.
At a hearing on 20 May, prosecutor, Pietro Pollidori, described the doctor’s work as “imprudent and negligent”.
He said her inaction had caused Silvana, originally from Meta, near Naples, to suffer “for over 40 minutes”.
During sentencing, Dr D’Aprano was also ordered to pay her victim’s widower compensation and legal fees.
