Entrepreneur and fitness fanatic André, 36, is holding little José when he begins choking.
Clara, 31, then rushes into the room and takes the infant off him as he shoos their pet dogs away.
Over the course of the tense clip, Clara remains calm, turns José face-down and pats him forcefully on the back several times.
She keeps her cool as she carries on with the process, while André looks on and paces around nervously.
He calls for help on his phone as the clip ends, but Clara manages to clear her son’s airways on her own.
Clara and André Coelho shared the clip with their respective 2.6million and 1.5million Instagram followers.
They met on Brazil’s version of ‘Ex on the Beach’.
Clara, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, said “This video is a warning.
“Everyone, absolutely everyone should know the Heimlich manoeuvre!
“We went through the biggest nightmare this afternoon.
“José choked on milk an hour after feeding, but thank God I managed to stay calm.
“And do what needed to be done, despite the chaos with the dog and the panic.
“I didn’t even hear André asking for the baby.
“I blocked everything out and focused on him since I knew what I was doing and couldn’t stop until he was breathing.”
In another reality show, she spoke about her desire to have twins, as reported on Need To Know.
Her wish later came true.
Clara went on: “It was three minutes of panic that felt like an eternity, but God watched over us and everything turned out all right.
“I always say this and I’ll say it here again: first aid should be a subject in school!
“We should grow up knowing it.
“This manoeuvre saves lives!
“Today it was José’s, but it could be any other baby or person.”
