Nigel Farage appears to have been targeted by at least one thrown object during his campaign trail in South Yorkshire.
The leader of Reform UK shared a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, which seemed to capture the moment when objects were hurled at him while he stood atop a bus in Barnsley on Tuesday.
Farage expressed his defiance in the face of the incident, writing, “I will not be bullied or cowed by a violent left-wing mob who hate our country.”

In response to the event, South Yorkshire Police reported the arrest of a 28-year-old man on suspicion of public order offenses. “It is believed that the man threw objects from a nearby construction area,” the police stated. Farage remained resolute, asserting, “These people want to stop my election campaign. That’s never going to happen.”
The video on Farage’s X account depicted a man in a red jacket throwing objects from a building site before being stopped by what appeared to be construction workers. The man was subsequently detained by police and remains in custody.
The confrontation occurred as a crowd of Stand Up to Racism protesters disrupted Farage’s speech from the bus. Both Reform UK supporters and Stand Up to Racism activists chanted against each other as crowds gathered around the bus in the town center.
Police had advised Farage not to disembark from the bus. Earlier, he had been touring Barnsley and received a warmer reception in Hoyland.
During his visit, he stopped by a beauty salon, posed with staff, and joked about getting his nails painted. Farage also interacted with shoppers and, while standing by a market stall selling eggs, humorously remarked that after being hit with a milkshake last week, he hoped eggs wouldn’t be next.
This recent incident follows an episode in Clacton last week, where Farage had a banana milkshake thrown at him during campaigning, leading to a woman being charged with assault. Back in 2019, during a campaign walkabout in Newcastle, he also had banana and salted caramel milkshake thrown at him.
