A three-year-old who was tragically killed after a dog attack will “live on” in another child – after his heart was donated to a one-year-old girl.
Covil Allen and his mother Tasha were attacked on 19 July by two American Bulldogs.
Doctors were sadly not able to save the toddler’s life.

Albeit heartbroken by the tragic death, the family decided to donate Covil’s organs to save others.
“Covil Lee Allen was able to donate his heart last night,” said Lindsey Hemmerich, a family friend.
“We just found out that his heart went to help save a 1 year old little girl!
“This is the most beautiful thing to come from this tragedy and we couldn’t be happier that his heart was able to save someone.
“Sadly his liver did not fit the child on the list to receive it but his heart will live on.”
The mother and son both suffered severe injuries during the attack, with Tasha needing multiple surgeries and skin grafts.
On the day of the incident, Tasha, Covil and his older brother Christian were in the garden of a home in Brooklyn Park in Minnesota.
They were looking to adopt a puppy, with Tasha and Christian playing with one before the tragic event.
The puppy’s parents suddenly attacked Covil as his mother and the dogs’ owner rushed to help.
The adults reportedly used hammers and pickaxes to fend off the animals, as reported by Need To Know.
Police later arrived at the scene.
Using service weapons, they were able to deter the dogs.
One of the pets was injured and the other died.
A GoFundMe was set up for the family which has since reached £117,000.
