A 17-year-old boy is accused of stabbing his parents and younger brother to death as they slept “for no apparent reason.”
The family-of-four celebrated dad Fabio’s 51st birthday at home on Saturday (31 Aug) evening.
At around 2am yesterday (1 Sept), sixth-form pupil, Riccardo, allegedly went down to the kitchen and grabbed a knife.

He allegedly attacked his brother Lorenzo, 12, as he slept.
Fabio and mum Daniela, 49, were woken up by the noise and rushed to their younger son’s room, where they were also stabbed.

Riccardo then called the emergency services and allegedly said: “Come, I’ve killed my father.”
He claimed his father had killed his mother and brother and that he had killed his father in self-defence.

When the police arrived at the family home in near Milan, Italy, they found Riccardo in front of the house.
He was covered in blood and was still holding the knife.
The victims were found inside with dozens of stab wounds.
Twelve hours into his teary interrogation, Riccardo allegedly came clean and told his questioners: “I killed them, alone.”
He reportedly confessed to having planned the murders some time ago, but couldn’t provide a clear motive.
According to local media, he spoke of “discomfort” and of feeling “alone” and “as if no one understood me”.
Riccardo was sent to a penal institute for minors in Milan, as reported by Need To Know.

Psychologists will now work with him in a bid to discover more about what drove him to allegedly kill his family.
Fabio worked in construction as a principal contractor and his wife, Daniela, owned an underwear shop.
Fabio is survived by his parents and brother, who live nearby but didn’t hear anything during the night.
A young woman who also lives nearby told local media that Riccardo, who loved volleyball, seemed like a “perfectly normal boy”.
A former classmate added that he was “the last person you would expect to do something like this”.
Another said: “He had no conflicts with his parents and did not use drugs.”
Paderno Dugnano mayor, Anna Varisco, remarked: “They were a normal, quiet family, not under the watch of social services, and described by everyone as having no problems.
“I’m stunned.”
