As dust rises into the air, a fist-sized piece of debris flies at breakneck speed from the demolition site towards the spectators.
A split-second later, it hits the police officer on the head a few feet in front of the person filming.
He drops to the ground and lies motionless with his phone next to him as the other spectators gather around him on Monday (30 September).
The cop was at the scene to maintain law and order.
The demolition was part of an anti-encroachment drive in Kondapur, Sangareddy district, Telangana state, south-central India.
The demolished structure had been built illegally, according to the authorities.
The police officer was admitted to a hospital for treatment, as reported by Need To Know.
Local Manoj said: “Final Destination movie in real life.”
Srinivasan added: “A helmet would have avoided this problem.”
Vishal remarked: “If a large building or any big structure is collapsing, you should move as far away from that location as possible.”
