A lucky bloke was startled but unscathed when a runaway Beetle missed him by a whisker.
CCTV footage shows how the young man crossed the multi-lane road during gridlock.
He could be seen scanning the scene as he stepped out in front of stopped or barely-moving cars.

As he reached the middle of the one-way road, an ungoverned VW Beetle suddenly hurtled into his path through a gap in the traffic.
It missed him by a whisker as it veered left and violently shunted the hatchback immediately to his left.
A trail of smoke could be seen rising from the tarmac behind the runaway Beetle.
The young man could be seen recoiling in shock before walking away and counting his blessings.
Had he been half a yard ahead, he could easily have been killed by the out-of-control Volkswagen.
A driver got out of his car to survey the damage as the footage ended.
The scenes unfolded in Naucalpan de Juárez near Mexico City, Mexico.
The clip did the rounds when it was shared to social media on Tuesday (26 Nov), as reported by Need To Know.
It’s not clear if anyone was physically harmed in the accident.
Nor is it clear how the Beetle driver lost control.
One social media user commented: “That nervous little jump as he realises he’s just escaped being crushed.”
Another wrote: “It’s important to stay alert at all times. This is a good example of that.”
