But, after popping the question to Hannah, 26, a crook tried to pinch it.
Luckily, Charlie was able to thwart him and get his phone back in the Spanish city after she saw what happened.
The drama happened as the couple visited the Arc de Triomf on Sunday (15 Dec).
Telecommunications engineer, Charlie, decided to make his move.
He propped up his phone on the wall as the two posed for a picture with Hannah being totally unaware of what will happen next.
In the footage, you can see Hannah start to make her way towards the phone before Charlie drops to one knee.
Emerging from his pocket was a ring and the magical proposal moment was captured on camera.
Whilst the two, who had been together for a year-and-a-half, embraced one another, a thief made an attempt to snatch the phone.
The man in a black coat walked towards the phone and grabbed it when the video cut out.
Charlie, of Newbury, Berkshire, told Need To Know: “It ruined the moment slightly.
“Thank you Hannah for being alert to the phone thief.
“I just wanted to propose to my girlfriend and some lovely guy wanted to steal my phone.
“He immediately handed it back.
“I didn’t notice, my partner did, I only knew because she shouted at him and upon turning round he was handing the phone back.
Pals were left shocked but were happy for the pair.
