A furious woman has hit back at men who can’t handle having relationships with mums – after a date unceremoniously dumped her for finding out she has a child.
Beauty queen Rosana Ferreira has made a career out of her good looks but outside of her public persona, she leads a calm life.
She is a single mum to her son, 11-year-old Marcelo, who is her number one priority.
But this doesn’t always sit well with budding suitors.
After getting blown off by a date for being a parent, the 38-year-old is now hitting back at men who “see motherhood as a burden”.
“Most of the time I feel pity [for men who can’t handle dating a mum],” Rosana told Need To Know.

“Men view motherhood as a ‘burden’ because they lack maturity.
“Many of them prefer superficial relationships because they don’t have the courage to deal with something more serious.
“Anyone who can’t handle an independent and responsible mother will never understand what true love is.”
Rosana makes no secret of being a proud mum; in fact, she brings it up on the first date.

Sadly, she has had many disappointing encounters as a result including recently, when a budding romance quickly went cold.
The former Miss BumBum winner said: “I was planning to date a man who sent me a message online, labelling my life as ‘complicated’ because I have a child.
“The classic excuse is ‘I’m not ready for this’. Translation: they don’t have the courage to grow as individuals.

“Another one is ‘I want someone who’s just for me’ – which is ridiculous because my son will never be an obstacle, just an extension of who I am.
“I always bring up the fact that I am a mum on the first date.
“If the guy can’t handle that from the start, he doesn’t deserve my time.
“I make it clear that I won’t hide who I am to please anyone.”

“It’s regrettable that, in the 21st century, there are still men who see motherhood as an obstacle.”
Despite her bad luck in dating, Rosana holds out hope that she will one day meet a man who isn’t afraid of a “strong, independent” woman.
In the meantime, she says she is embracing sexual abstinence and redirecting the energy that she previously invested in dating for personal growth, instead.

She added: “I’m looking for someone who has empathy and maturity, which, apparently, is rare.
“In the future, I hope men stop being so insecure and learn to see mothers as amazing partners.
“And, of course, that I continue to prosper, with or without someone by my side.”
