He was pinned to the ground by the group of locals.

Police then placed the man under arrest.
The gold chain was returned to the British tourist in Old Havana, Cuba.
Ministry of the Interior spokesperson Ransel Londres said: “Caught with his hands in the till.
“An individual has been caught after he snatched a chain from a foreigner from the UK.
“A group of young people in Old Havana saw the incident and cornered the man before calling the police.
“Their actions allowed for the stolen property to be returned to those affected, who also received assistance from the authorities.
“When people act together, in a conscious and organised manner, they achieve nothing but success, especially if their call to action is to guarantee public order and citizen tranquillity.”

It happened at 3pm on Saturday (11 Jan).
Cuba has seen an increase in muggings and robberies in recent months, largely attributed to the country’s worsening economic crisis.
Rising inflation and shortages of basic resources have seen tourists being targeted by criminals at an increasing rate.
In December, a Swedish tourist reported the theft of their backpack on the beach outside the Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul Hotel in Varadero.

A Canadian tourist had their luggage stolen during a stay at the Hotel Marea Del Portillo in Granma in September.
Shortly afterwards, another tourist was assaulted in the street in Santiago de Cuba by a young man who snatched their phone.
Meanwhile, a tourist was stabbed by criminals who tried to steal their motorbike in April last year.
Days later, an Italian visitor was the victim of an armed robbery by three Cubans in Sancti Spíritus, as reported by Need To Know.
