An alligator has been caught swimming in a homeowner’s back garden.
Police were called to a property in Florida Keys, Florida, US, on 31 January after receiving reports of an intrusive guest.
The reptile had decided to go for a swim and helped himself to the owner’s swimming pool, as reported by Need To Know.

Sargent James Hager realised he had a big job on his hands when he arrived at the property.
The incident was captured on camera.
Footage shows an officer holding a shovel as he tries to shoo the alligator out of the pool.
Eventually, the animal gets out onto the deck.
The owner then grabs a gardening tool and begins to shoo and shove the animal away as well.
Eventually, the gator moves to the back of the garden before leaving via a gap in the fence.
It then scurried off to a nearby canal and back into the saltwater.
MCSO the Florida Keys shared the video on their Facebook where they said: “MCSO Sgt. James Hager helped residents in the Pirates Cove subdivision near Mile Marker 98 in Key Largo remove this unwelcome guest from their backyard/pool.”
Though crocs are rare in Florida, they can be found in South Florida throughout Miami, the Keys and the Everglades National Park.
