But due to the impact of the fall, a metal claw clip that she was wearing in her hair broke in half.

One half penetrated her scalp and doctors had to work to remove three of its teeth.
Ms Du was immediately rushed to the hospital where Dr Tian Fengming told the local press that she was in pain but still conscious.
He said that the three teeth on the clip were fully embedded into her skin, but that they were fairly short in length.

He said that if the clip had pierced her skull, neurosurgery would have been required to prevent potential brain damage or bleeding.
After administering anaesthesia, the clip was carefully extracted in just over 10 minutes, as reported by Need To Know.

The doctor has since warned others that claw clips can pose serious risks, even if they are made of plastic.
He explained that this is due to the way that they are worn, with them generally being placed at the back of the head near the brain stem.
He suggested not wearing claw clips while exercising, travelling, or while engaging in activities that involve significant movement.
It happened in Chengdu, China last Monday (3 Feb).
