Nostalgic mums and dads are longing for a return to their child-free clubbing days, a study has found.

Sentimental parents are even trying to recapture their youth by playing old skool favourite tunes with their kids.

The research has found the nation is made up of die-hard ravers and cheesy dancers who miss their teenage nights on the tiles.

Music spanning the last 60 years featured on a set list of tunes they pine over the most.

Topping the poll was the 1992 hit Rhythm is a Dancer by SNAP! which was on 28% of voters’ lists.

It was closely followed by ABBA’s Dancing Queen from 1976 – voted for by t 27%.

DJ duo Daft Punk hold an unprecedented two spots in the top 10 with One More Time in 6th place and Get Lucky coming in at 8th place and is also in the top five acts we’d like to guest DJ our kitchen discos, along with David Guetta, Fatboy Slim, Calvin Harris and Avicii.

Holiday Villages, TUI’s popular family hotel brand, conducted the study as part of its re-vamp of summer entertainment for the nation.

To celebrate, Holiday Village Ibiza is claiming the last weekend of July as the official Ibiza family opening weekender, with a very special guest DJ act headlining the new Ibiza Sunsets night on 26th July – a talented pair of pre-teens performing as the world’s newest tribute act … Half Punk.

Their setlist will feature the top 20 family floor fillers voted for by the nation.

The family opening weekender, marking the start of the school summer holiday season will see the launch of Holiday Village’s new family rave nights and ‘Little Ravers’ events for under three-year-olds.

Demand is now booming for daytime clubbing events and family raves with searches increasing by a staggering 53% since 2023.

A whopping 60% of parents have come clean and admitted they miss their late nights at the club before they had kids.

Brits have even tried to recapture the club in their own kitchen, with 67% of parents hitting the kitchen dancefloor with their kids and 50% DJ’ing their own at-home disco with the children.

One in five parents also stated that they try to recapture the nostalgia from the holidays they had in their youth when booking family trips.

A whopping 73% of families also admitted they have the most fun together when tearing up the dance floor.

Natalie Johnson, concept manager for Holiday Villages, said: “We’ve totally re-vamped our entertainment programme this summer based on customer research which showed a massive demand for high energy themed nights, like our new Ibiza Sunsets and Neon Nights events.

“They will have a pumped-up vibe, with vibrant staging and lighting, face paints, lots of neon and feature DJ sets, live performances and dance floor action at their heart.

“And we’ve got something for ravers of all ages with a new Little Ravers event at Holiday Villages’ creches.

“Half Punk is the perfect act to kick off the peak summer season and we’re delighted to reveal them to the world today, although they’ll be keeping their identities hidden… for now.

“We can’t wait to see them in action in Ibiza.”
