He took a nasty tumble and only came to a stop after slamming into the safety net about 70 metres downhill.
The impact left him with a serious head injury, fractures to both femurs, and a broken collarbone on Saturday (8 Mar) morning.

Marco was conscious when the on-site doctor gave him first aid.
He was airlifted from the slopes of Monte Zoncolan to A&E in Tolmezzo, east of Milan, Italy.
Before his mum arrived, Marco had texted her: “Mum, I’ve fallen. I must have broken my leg.
“Don’t worry.”
However, his condition deteriorated due to complications from his injuries.
He was transferred to intensive care in Udine, but he fell into a coma during the night.
Tragically, he passed away in the early hours of Sunday (9 Mar).
Marco was from Tolmezzo and belonged to the Sci Club Monte Dauda, as reported by Need To Know.

He had been competing in international races since 2022 and was considered a rising skiing star.
He was also a short track speed skater and won the Italian youth championship in 2018 while competing for the Skating Club Pontebba.
He is also survived by his father, Angelo Degli Uomini.
Regional governor Massimiliano Fedriga stated: “Friuli Venezia Giulia mourns the loss of a young man who loved sport and the mountains, taken from us far too soon.”
