The police are treating the case as femicide and have identified her ex-partner as the main suspect.
Det Manoel Galeno believes he committed the crime in revenge for their recent break-up.
After the attack, the suspect fled the scene in Biguaçu, southwest of Sao Paulo, Brazil – in Mika’s car.

Neither he nor the vehicle has been found at the time since the attack on Saturday (10 May).
His name is not reported in local media, but he is described as a 23-year-old local man, as reported by Need To Know.

He reportedly has entries for drug trafficking, bodily harm, robbery, handling stolen goods, drug possession, and possession of a stolen vehicle on his lengthy criminal record.
The police are calling for anyone with any information about his whereabouts to come forward.

Mika was laid to rest on Sunday in Governador Celso Ramos, where she ran a hair and beauty salon.
She was popular on social media, with more than 15,000 Instagram followers.
Her cousin, Analu, said: “My heart aches, remembering you, beautiful, at Grandma’s house, always so polite, loved by all, ready for whatever came your way.

“So proper, honest, full of life. You were the light of the world. You will have an eternal place in my heart.”
