A drunk man turned up at a police station in a horse and cart after he was banned from the road for drink-driving.
CCTV footage showed the man pulling into the precinct car park.
Sat in a carriage pulled by two horses, he waved as he drove slowly alongside the constabulary.
But as he made a turn to rejoin the road, an officer came out of the building and chased after him.
And after stopping the coachman for a check, the policeman noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from him, as reported by Need To Know.
A breathalyser test came back with a staggering reading of over 1.3%, confirming he was severely intoxicated on Sunday (25 May) night.
The 69-year-old local man – who lives in Poddębice, south west of Warsaw, Poland – is well-known to the police.
The legal drink drive limit in the country is 0.02%.
He has been stopped several times for drink-driving in the past and is under a lifetime ban from operating motor vehicles.
His latest antics will see him sent back to court, police have confirmed.
A spokesperson for the Poddębice County Police Headquarters said: “Regardless of your means of transport, you are legally required to stay sober and follow the rules of the road.
“Not having a driving licence does not entitle anyone to seek ‘alternative’ modes of travel – especially while intoxicated.
“Even operating a horse-drawn carriage demands full awareness and responsibility.
“We urge everyone to act with caution, common sense, and respect for road safety – for your own sake and the safety of others.”
