Debris from the crashed Air India plane from Ahmedabad to Gatwick was left on top of a building.
Air India flight AI171 crashed minutes after takeoff today (12 Jun).
The Boeing 787‑8 Dreamliner, registered VT‑ANB, had 242 passengers and crew members on board.

There were 169 Indians, 53 British, seven Portuguese, and at least one Canadian citizen on board the plane.
In footage of the aftermath part of the jet was intact on the roof of a two-storey building.
In other videos, smoke could be seen billowing up into the sky.
After a brief climb to around 625ft, the pilot issued a mayday, lost radio contact moments later and plummeted into the densely populated district of Meghani Nagar, according to early reports.
Emergency crews are working at the scene and the death toll is currently unclear.
The injured are being taken to nearby hospitals, as reported by Need To Know.
In a statement on X, Indian PM Narendra Modi said: “The tragedy in Ahmedabad has stunned and saddened us.
“It is heartbreaking beyond words.
“In this sad hour, my thoughts are with everyone affected by it.
“Have been in touch with ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected.”
The emergency situation is ongoing.
